Fear of Shorts And A Timid Jacky

Early in the Morning

I wake up to see everyone chatting about leaving Pewter City wanting to already get to the second gym. I just smile at their enthusiasms, but I know that we may need to train a bit before facing the second gym. I know the walk way has powerful Pokemon trainers which would be excellent for my Pokemon right not.

After finishing my business, we head off with Mandy on my back, Alex is on my right side while Karin took the left with Apollo above her, and Alice is flying above Alex. We were stop by a man in a white coat which I recognize to be one of Prof. Oak's Aids which he looks a bit 'zone' out. I walk towards him and say hi to only be given a box and a super fast dialog before he runs off. I look into the box to see that these were running shoes as well as a note next to the shoes. I glance over it and my eye twitch a bit before just tossing the note into the trash can with everyone worried about me.

"Are you alright, dear? You seem quite frighten after reading the note. May I ask what would cause such a strong reaction?" Alice asks me while putting on the shoes, and I just turn to her with a dark aura around me making her sweat drop. "Or not. You do not need to answer, dear." She says as I just shake my head with my hand on top of it looking ahead of us.

"The note says it was from mom but... It is tainted with Oak's scent. Before you ask, I had to deal with Oak a lot more than a normal kid would. You learn real quick when you smell his scent that you should run or hide." I say shaking a bit knowing the horrors of Oak as well as Gary, but he is use to it where I was not. We soon just nod and head off to face the trainers a head.

After a Few Trainer Battles

  
I hop down the ledge to get something that was in the grass and see it was an Oran Berry. I place it in my bag and was about to leave when a kid appear behind me like a serial murderer saying something about shorts which I was wearing. I turn throwing such a powerful punch that left a deep crater into the wall where he was standing at.

"Ugh, why do people do this to me?!" I shout out in anger yet fear because I was scared out of my wits from that spooky kid. He soon got out like nothing has happen and looks at me staring at the leg area very creepily.

"You are wearing shorts! You should go out with me!" The kid shouts only to see me being held back by Alex while Alice whispers something to me. I smile evilly, and I turn to look at him with a sinister smile.

"Um, how about a battle to decide? If I win, then you leave me the fuck alone and never come near me. If you win, then I will date you." I wager to him which he gladly accepts making me grin because everyone is level 13 and his Spearow is level 14. Why is this making me happy you may ask. Well simple, Karin had learned Hyper Fang a moment ago.

"Karin, dear, what do you think?" I ask her as if thinking about the situation while Karin grins a cocky one looking at me.

"Why, Kaoru, you should allow me to handle this. I mean I do know how to handle men." Karin simply states which I agree and allow her to fight this one with Apollo and Alex cheering which soon cause a glaring contest. Alice, Mandy, and I were cheering for her ignoring the men with their issues because they were idiots.

This battle was over after a Hyper Fang and a Quick Attack making me hug Karin in joy before looking at the trainer.

"Hand over the money, and if I ever see your face, I will fucking hurt you." I say in a demonic voice as he looks like he was going to shit himself and hands over the money. I left, and we continue onwards.

Route 3

After battling the jumpy girl, I feel someone watching us, and I glare at the grass for a bit. I waited a bit before tapping my foot showing how impatient I was and soon a very shy Spearow appear. I look at her with a raise eyebrow and put Apollo back in his ball to make sure he did not scare her away.

"Um, h-hello... um, I-I was w-wondering if you could a-allow me to a-accompany you... I-I saw h-how you f-fought with the g-girl." The wild Spearow says using her wing to hide her blush above her beak, and I thought for a moment. I mean a Spearow is a lot better than a Pidgey though right now I do not have a full team so it would be alright. I nod and place a ball in front of her which she peck the button. After a moment, the wild Spearow is now a new member of our team making me smile a bit. I release her and kneel in front of her looking directly at her.

"Do you want the name Jacky?" I ask her, and she blushes while nodding a yes to it making me smile softly. I place her on my shoulder mindful of Mandy's hands and smile at the both of them as they greet each other.

"Timid nature... Well, it could be worse and welcome to the team, Jacky. I'll release Apollo at the Pokemon Center since he would overwhelm you." I say to her as we continue onward until we reach the Pokemon Center were we agree that it is time for us to rest a bit before continuing into the cave. I release Apollo to be proven right and Alex had to literally restrain him while Karin scolds him as Jacky hid behind me with Mandy. I just sigh knowing this will take a while for her to get use to Apollo.
